Getting back on track. Left the lessons too long. May Allah ease this journey. Will not look back. Have allowed myself time to adjust to the new life, now refreshed with new goals and targets. The ayat discussed in this video- very interesting. But when i opened my copy of tafsir (bahasa melayu) somehow the message is not clear enough and I probably wouldn't go on thinking about the verse had I only read it from my tafsir. In fact I just read the tafsir of this surah last month. Was I sleepy? .....ok, ok.. but hidayah, knowledge belongs to Allah alone. Does not depend on which tafsir you use. One more reason to quickly master the arabic language.

Quranic Arabic Corpus
There is a very good website suggested by Teacher Nabeeel called The Quranic Arabic Corpus where we can learn the Quran in depth (word by word analysis). Although we might not want to go very deep as the mufassirin, but one use suggested by Teacher Nabeel is that when we are learning a new Arabic word, just go to the Quran dictionary section on the left, choose the root word, and all Quranic sentences that use the word will come out. In this way we can learn how Allah uses the words to convey message to us. Subhanallah!

Coolness of the eyes
I have been unable to study the arabic lessons since our arrival in Malaysia, mainly because the slowness of the internet in Seremban. But now after the internet has been installed in our house in Melaka (with much hassle), I can resume my lessons. The internet speed is alright, at least the videos can run smoothly.
Nouman Ali Khan is really a man of deep understanding. I've never thought of the real meaning of this arabic/Quranic phrase before-coolness of the eyes (penyejuk mata). The psychological torment of Queen Asiah, wife of Pharaoh. And Rasulullah (saw)'s description of his prayers as coolness of the eyes, not responsibility, Allah's command or ..anything else of our interpretation of the solat.
Note to self- Coolness of the eyes means a happiness that bring you tears of joy, or a shade in the storm.
Though I want to study a lot and I'm trying my best to study what I can, but I will have to adopt the attitude of Kang Azzam in Ketika Cinta Bertasbih- yang sedikit itu kalau berkat itulah yang berguna.
